Corkill back in court

An application for Julie Corkill, wife of former Chief Minister Richard Corkill, to pay the entire costs of her trial, will be considered today (Fri).

Mrs Corkill (pictured) was fined ?10,000 following her conviction of three charges of false accounting and one of obtaining money by deception.

The charges relate to grants paid by government towards development of holiday accommodation at the Corkill's Onchan home, Ballacain.

As well as making the costs application, the prosecution lodged a compensation application for the repayment of one of two grants - worth ?47,122 - paid by the Department of Tourism and Leisure.
