Quirk finally wins a seat

The last result of the night was declared in Onchan, where local commissioner David Quirk claimed the third seat, behind Liberal Vannin Party leader Peter Karran and Adrian Earnshaw.

Mr Karran polled 2,600 votes, the highest number of any candidate in the Island, with Mr Earnshaw also performing well on 2,078.

Mr Quirk (pictured), who had made a number of previous attempts to become an MHK, polled 1,565.

Just missing out was another Onchan commissioner, Brain Stowell, on 1,373 votes.

Steve Babb got 1,047 votes and Andrew Dossor 601.
