Singer fails in Ramsey

Leonard Singer was left in the political wilderness in Ramsey.

Mr Singer, who gave up his seat on the Legislative Council to contest the election, finished in third place, behind Anne Craine and Allan Bell.

Mrs Craine (pictured) topped the poll with 1,969 votes.

Mr Bell, the Treasury Minister, regained his seat with 1,768 and Mr Singer got 1,621.

Liberal Vannin candidate Nigel Malpass polled 673.
