Hannan beaten in Peel

The first big surprise in the 2006 general election came in Peel, where town commissioners Tim Crookall beat long serving MHK Hazel Hannan.

Mr Crookall polled 839 votes, compared with 712 for Mrs Hannan.

Third was another town commissioner, Rodger Gimbert, with 321.

The turnout was 63.4 per cent.
