Ardvisson sentenced

A 50 year old man has been given a six month prison sentence by the High Bailiff suspended for two years.

Peter Alf Ardvisson of Lhoobs Road, Foxdale, appeared for sentence after admitting one offence of possessing heroin.

The defendant was arrested on October 3rd in King Street, Douglas, where a quantity of brown powder was found on his person.

Ardvisson said he had bought it for his own use. It weighed 0.2 grammes with a street value of ?20.

His advocate said the defendant was a registered drug addict and was trying his best to refrain from using drugs.

Mr Moyle said Ardvisson had similar previous convictions for drugs offences.

In addition to the suspended sentence he also imposed a two year supervision order.
