Rushen FC brawl

by isleofman.com 20th November 2006
The Isle of Man Football Association are investigating violent scenes at the end of Saturday’s Rushen-St Mary’s Division One clash.

An altercation involving players and a spectator sparked a mass brawl in the ground's car park shortly after the match finished.

Rushen United will discuss the matter themselves at a meeting this evening (Mon), and have declined to comment until after it.

The FA's Joint Vice President, Norman Kneen, says players have a responsibility for their own conduct, but clubs have the overall responsibility for the conduct of their players, officials and spectators.

He says the investigation will show whether the clubs could have done anything to prevent the situation.
