Island training to benefit force

Training Isle of Man police officers here instead of in the United Kingdom will benefit both the individuals and the force. That's according to Staff Development Manager, Inspector Mike Ward. January 2007 will see new recruits being trained on the Island for the first time in half a century after the recent closure of United Kingdom regional training centres. But Inspector Ward says this is a positive step as the programme can be tailored for local issues (audio file attached):
