Wet road hazards

by isleofman.com 17th November 2006
Motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads this morning after very heavy rain overnight and this morning.

Police say there is a lot of standing water around the island this morning (Fri), especially on the main Peel Road, mainly between Greeba and Ballacraine.

Department of Transport workers are in the area to try to clear the roads, but motorists are urged to proceed with caution.

There have also been reports of large amounts of standing water on the Phildraw Road between Ballasalla and the Ballamodha Straight, around Hillberry, and in places around the centre of Douglas.

Drivers can also expect delays along the promenade due to the demolition works taking place at the Villa Collonnade.

As usual the advice is to slow down and allow extra time for your journey.
