The routine checks will begin next Monday (Nov 20th), and will be available to women aged between 50 and 70 years old, every two years.

Carol Cowin will hand over ?50,000 towards the cost of the screening, on behalf of the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association, to Health Minister Steve Rodan.

The introduction of the scheme was delayed by a lack of radiographers.
