Election banners removed

by isleofman.com 15th November 2006
Police in south Douglas have expressed concern over the removal of election banners and boards from public areas.

In a spate of incidents over the last couple of weeks, canvassing posters erected by candidates have been removed from the Anagh Coar, Pulrose and Vicarage Road areas.

Police point out that the banners are the property of candidates, who fund them - and removing them is a criminal offence.

Officers believe local people may have witnessed the damage which has been caused in built up residential areas, possibly at busy times of the day.
