Broadleaf plan welcomed

A change to plantation policy is good for the diversity of the Island's Flora and fauna.

In a 15 year programme the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry aims to replace up to 130 acres of small conifer plantations by broadleaved trees and heathland.

Director of the Manx Wildlife Trust, Duncan Bridges says wide expanses of conifer plantations don't provide good habitat for most species:
