The Moddey Dhoo Motorcycle Club is paying tribute to "a character and a friend".

Forty-seven year old painter and decorator John Hughes, of Ponyfields, Port Erin was killed in an accident on the Ballamodha road in Malew on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Hughes (pictured) received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moddey Dhoo spokesman Andy Scullard says he was a popular member of the club (audio file attached):

Following Sunday's accident, police are anxious to speak to the driver of a small/medium size, pale-coloured car who was travelling up the Ballamodha straight at about 5:10pm.

Anyone with information is asked to ring 631212.
