Marine Laboratory demolition

Preparations are underway for the demolition of Port Erin Marine Laboratory.

The complex passed into government hands last month after an unsuccessful campaign to save the facility from closure.

Several old buildings and sheds are to be pulled down - while the tanks are being filled and preserved for possible reinstatement later.

Now, attention's turned to the future use of two remaining buildings on the site.

Minister at the Department of the Environment John Rimington says several proposals are in the pipeline:
