Big day for Douglas actress

A Douglas-based actress is set to star in a one woman play at the Old Vic Theatre in London today (Sunday).

Liana Mau Tan Gold is appearing in The Woman of Burma, which is about the life of Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

Liana will be joined by celebrities including Prunella Scales, Sinead Cusack and Richard Wilson, who will read speeches and perform poems.

Proceeds from the one off event will go towards the Burma Campaign UK, which is calling for Aung San's release from house arrest.

Liana feels it's an important issue which doesn't get enough coverage (audio file attached):
