200 hours community service

A twenty two year old man has been ordered to carry out 200 hours community service by the High Bailiff.

Adrian Jeffery Morton, of St Mary's Road, Port Erin, appeared for sentence after admitting assault causing actual bodily harm,

The defendant, egged on by his girlfriend, punched another man, Liam Hughes, in the face in Parliament Street, Ramsey, during the evening of May 27th.

Mr Hughes was the former boyfriend of the woman with Morton, and Morton told police he felt threatened by Hughes.

His advocate said the defendant acted in haste and had been drinking. He was now very remorseful.

Mr Moyle ordered Morton to pay ?500 compensation.
