Larissey case discharged

by isleofman.com 9th November 2006
An 18 year old man who rode his motorcycle on the heritage trail in Braddan has been granted a 12 month conditional discharge by the High Bailiff.

Oliver Clifford Larissey, of Snugborough Avenue, Union Mills, admitted riding his bike elsewhere than on a road.

Kate Skinner reports:

(Text of attached audio)
Inspector Helen Mason, prosecuting, said police were called to Union Mills at 11.30 am on August 15th, following a complaint that two motorcyclists were riding off-road on the heritage trail.

Police saw the two and Larissey rode off, but was tracked back to his home.

His advocate said the defendant thought it was alright to ride off-road because others were doing it. She said he did not ride off, he didn't know police were looking for him and he simply rode home.

Mr Moyle said people were getting fed up with footpaths being churned up by motor-vehicles.
