A nineteen year old man who bit a policeman has appeared for sentence.

Joseph Paul Dooley of Approach Road in Ramsey admitted being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.

Stuart Peters reports

(Text of attached audio)
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 16th in Parliament Street, Ramsey, when Dooley, who could not stand properly, was arrested.

He bit an officer, but fortunately his advocate said, the skin was not broken.

He told police he had consumed 13 pints of beer.

His advocate said Dooley had now written a letter of apology to the officer and said he accepted his behaviour was completely out of order.

Mr Moyle imposed a twelve month supervision order and banned Dooley from entering on-licence premises or being sold or purchasing alcohol for twelve months.
