Peel hotel gets go-ahead

by isleofman.com 7th November 2006
Peel Commissioners have won the first stage of a planning battle to site a hotel and apartments on the former swimming pool site in Marine Road.

They’ve won an appeal against a planning committee decision to grant permission for the development in principle.

DLGE Minister John Rimington disagreed with planning inspector David Ward, who said the project should be turned down because of concerns about the visual impact.

Commissioner David Lace says the planned hotel will be of great benefit to the town, attracting more visitors and bringing more jobs and investment to Peel.
