New RBL post-war memorial

by isleofman.com 7th November 2006
The Royal British Legion in the Isle of Man is doing its bit to help raise funds for a memorial to the 16,000 British servicemen and women who have died in the line of duty since the Second World War.

Soon to be constructed at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, the monument will not only remember those killed in conflict but also recognise those who have given their lives on duty and those killed by terrorist action.

Publicity officer for the Isle of Man 'county', Major Charles Wilson, hopes it will help raise awareness of the invaluable contribution made by the Armed Forces throughout the world:

Donations can be made through the website armedforcesmemorial.org.uk, via the Daily Mail newspaper or by calling Charles Wilson on 629589.
