Bonfire success on Douglas beach

by isleofman.com 7th November 2006
Thousands of people lined the centre of Douglas promenade last night for the bonfire night celebrations.

It was the first organised display in the capital for many years, and followed approaches to the town hall by members of the public.

The evening consisted of a spectacular fireworks display, a best guy competition and a giant bonfire on the beach.

For safety reasons the bonfire burned within a specially constructed enclosure which ensured the evening passed without incident.
