Concern for BA jobs

by isleofman.com 4th November 2006
Jobs potentially under threat, as British Airways prepares to sell its regional company BA Connect, could be saved with the right approach.

That’s according to Trades Union chief Bernard Moffatt.

FlyBe is set to take over the operation at the end of next March and, despite assurances from the airline, there’s concerns about the future of the BA Connect engineering base here, particularly as FlyBe recently invested ?14 million in its own engineering facility in Exeter.

However, Bernard Moffatt believes that, with the necessary support, the engineering facility in the Island will continue to flourish.
