Ben-my-Chree unaffected by spell on mudbanks

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2006
The Ben-my-Chree has been checked over by the Steam Packet in Douglas, after settling onto mudbanks in Heysham harbour early this morning.

The company's flagship was preparing to return to the Island just after 2.00am when the incident happened, at low tide.

She was forced to wait two hours until high water before getting off the bank and resuming her journey.

A thorough examination revealed no problems, and the Ben-my-Chree was able to leave Douglas for the return sailing at about 9.30am.
