Jewel heist in Braddan

by isleofman.com 2nd November 2006
Police are investigating after a burglar stole more than ?10,000 worth of unique jewellery.

The theft happened between Saturday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 31 at the Noble’s Hospital doctor’s accommodation.

Officers say the house next to the old Union Mills Football Fields was broken into and the valuables taken along with a camcorder.

Jason Roberts reports:

A small cash box was taken from the house and investigating officers say the jewellery was inside.

But the thief may have trouble selling his ill-gotten gains as the jewellery is very distinctive and is normally used in Asian weddings.

Police say as well as its financial value, it’s of great sentimental value to its owners, who are said to be distraught over its loss.

Anybody who has been offered the jewellery or has any information on the breakin can contact police on 631212 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
