Eddie Teare declined MEA pay

The Island’s only MHK has revealed he turned down ?20,000 a year to take the helm at the Manx Electricity Authority.

Eddie Teare (pictured), who was re-elected unopposed in Ayre, says he didn’t want the salary that went with being chairman of the MEA.

Speaking to Manx Radio’s David Callister last night in the first of a series of election programmes, Mr Teare said taking the job was never about the money:
