Ramsey boxers face KO

by isleofman.com 1st November 2006
The final bell is potentially sounding for a popular boxing club in the north of the Island.

The Viking Amateur Boxing Club trains more than 25 youngsters three times a week in Ramsey but its base, in an old tyre building at the bottom of Gladstone Avenue, may be demolished by owners Shoprite due to safety concerns.

Now it's issued a final its appeal for alternative premises in the north.

Senior coach, Juan Thomas, says while the club is thriving, it could soon be on the ropes with a decision imminent.

Anyone who feels they can help the club should contact Juan on 472415 or e-mail vikingbk@manx.net
