New Child Advocate Appointed

by isleofman.com 31st October 2006
Children with disabilities on the Isle of Man now have access to an advocate specifically appointed for them.

Ellen Hoskisson is an Island resident, and a graduate in Childhood Studies.

She says she's delighted to be involved in the new venture, and hopes to make a real difference to children's lives.

The Isle of Man DHSS says the post has been created to give disabled children the opportunity to voice their opinions on issues connected with health, education, family and recreation.

The service also aims to make children aware of their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
