New breast screening procedure

by isleofman.com 30th October 2006
Women in the Isle of Man will have the benefit of a new breast screening procedure from next month.

The Call and Recall Programme for Breast Screening will begin on Monday 20th November.

All women between 50 and 70 years old, who are registered with an Isle of Man GP, will be invited for a screening every 2 years.

Women either side of this age range will also be able to use the service; the over 70s by self-referral and the under 50s by a referral through their GP.

The DHSS says it is delighted with the programme's establishment, adding it has been a Department priority for a long time.
