Corporation under threat

Douglas Corporation is being accused of causing endless delays to the renovation of homes in Upper Pulrose.

More than 60 frustrated residents packed a public meeting at the estate's community centre on Friday - to voice anger at the lack of progress in refurbishing their homes.

Many are still waiting for loft insulation and central heating to improve damp, cold conditions.

Local MHK David Cretney says the Corporation has failed to come up with the feasibility scheme required by central government to release cash for the estate's upgrade (audio file attached):
