QEII leading the way

An Isle of Man school has stolen a march on its UK counterparts over the issue of introducing International GCSEs to their curriculums.

QE2 High School in Peel already offers its students an IGCSE in maths.

Ministers in the UK are looking at replacing the traditional courses in state schools, which has sparked a debate about whether the new qualifications are better or worse.

QE2 Head teacher Sue Moore believes, in maths at least, the International GCSE has distinct advantages over the standard course (audio file attached):
