The complete line-up of candidates for next month's general election will be known on Monday afternoon. Anybody wishing to contest any of the 24 seats must submit their nomination papers to the returning officer for their constituency in the two hours from ten o'clock on Monday morning. There will then be a period of half an hour, until 12:30, during which any objections can be lodged. Manx Radio will broadcast the full list of names as soon as the information is provided by the returning officers. So far 54 people have indicated their intention to stand and, barring withdrawals, there will be contests in all but one of the constituencies. (Note for Marian: 54 was correct on Friday, but figure will need changing in the event of a "flurry" of new names coming forward overnight!).
