Dangerous roads warning

by isleofman.com 27th October 2006
Heavy rain overnight and again this morning (Thurs) coupled with strong winds have been causing problems on the Island's roads today.

Police say the Mountain Road, which has suffered a landfall in one section, is likely to remain closed until midday at the earliest, when a decision will be made with regard to opening the road.

And the Creg ny Baa Back Road and Gleneedle to the Garey Road is also closed to traffic due to flooding.

There could be standing water or debris on many of the Island's roads this morning, and road conditions are described as "treacherous" in places.

Motorists are advised to take extra care.
