Atlantic challengers

Two local men are planning to navigate the Atlantic in a home-made rowing boat to raise funds for Leukaemia Research.!

But Mark Buttery and Alan Kneen (pictured) are starting with a more modest maiden voyage next year, which will take them around the Irish Sea.

The boat will be officially launched on Saturday in Peel on the lifeboat slipway at 3.30pm.

As Mark explains, just getting it FLOATING has already caused enough problems:
