O'Keefe sentenced

by isleofman.com 25th October 2006
A 29 year old woman who 'aided and abetted another in order to procure a summary offence' has been given a two month prison sentence suspended for twelve months by the High Bailiff.

Sharon Mary Sloane-O'Keefe of Stephenson Court, Douglas, appeared for sentence after admitting the offence committed on or around July 26th 2004

The defendant's then boyfriend, now husband, got forms to obtain a provisional driving licence. He signed them Trevor O'Keefe when in fact his name was Derek O'Keefe.

She signed a form to say she had known Trevor O'Keefe for between three and four years.

She was subsequently arrested on August 11th when it was discovered that O'Keefe had obtained that licence. He was dealt with in another court.

Her advocate said the defendant accepted that what she did was wrong, and serious.

She now regretted her actions
