Gosling appeal

by isleofman.com 25th October 2006
An appeal resumed this morning (Tuesday) against the sentence given to a Ramsey woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death.

Fifty year old Anne Marie Gosling killed Peter Ormiston at their home in Kings Reach, Ramsey, in January 2004.

Earlier this year, she was jailed for four and a half years on an admitted manslaughter charge.

The Attorney General subsequently lodged an appeal which began in July but was adjourned so new medical advice could be put before the court.

Today, two UK doctors are expected to give evidence to the court and address the central issue of risk.

Gosling is currently serving her sentence at a secure unit at Low Newton prison in County Durham - and is due for release on January the 24th because of the time she spent in custody ahead of the guilty plea.
