Beaches improving says scientist

The Island's beaches are gradually improving.

So says government analyst Paul Lenartowicz.

Water around 16 of the Island's beaches are tested on a weekly basis for bacteria following EC guidelines

However, whilst water quality is improving, the Island's unlikely to be awarded many coveted blue flag awards, but for a raft of different reasons:
