HMS Ramsey on exercises

HMS Ramsey is embarking on one of the biggest military training exercises in the world.

The Royal Navy vessel, which has forged strong links with her namesake town in the Isle of Man, put to sea from Helensborough on the Clyde yesterday.

Neptune Warrior is an international exercise, in which ships from all over Europe and beyond,. will train for service as part of a task force.

Geoff Qualye, Chairman of Ramsey Commissioners, was among a group of well-wishers who saluted HMS Ramsey as she joined the manoevres.

Navy spokesman Neil Smith says the crew will have appreciated that gesture:
