Appeal for wildlife scheme

The Manx Wildlife Trust is hoping to acquire a new site of special scientific interest.

The 13? acre site is part of the Ballaugh Curraghs, and consists of open meadow, woodland, wet grassland and scrubland.

It is home to orchids, marigolds, curlews and the Manx robber fly among others.

The trust needs to raise ?25,000 in the next six months to be able to buy the site.

Director Duncan Bridges says the site will be open to the public, but access will be restricted:
