A 38 year old man has been jailed by the High Bailiff for three months.

James Peter Wall of Port e Chee Avenue, Douglas, appeared for sentence after admitting offences of affray and intending to cause immediate violence.

Wall and Teare were in a taxi at 10.45pm on July 20th which was being driven down Richmond Hill by a Mr Hooper. Wall put his hand on the gear lever which he and Teare claimed was wobbling. The driver stopped and went down the hill where he called police.

Teare remained in the taxi but Wall was detained further down the Hill. Both men said they were concerned at the manner in which the taxi was being driven.

At 1.10am on June 23rd Wall got involved in a fracas outside Fiesta Havana which resulted in him slapping two men, one on the head and one on the side of the face. Following his arrest, Wall told the police that he had been accosted by two drunken men outside Fiesta Havana who made threatening comments towards him.

His advocate said he had reacted in a regrettable manner and was sorry for what he had done
