Marine Biological Station update

by isleofman.com 17th October 2006
Plans for the Port Erin Marine Biological Station site appear to be moving forward slowly.

In a written reply to a Tynwald question, Chief Minister Donald Gelling said the Southern Diving Club had been offered a 2 year lease on part of the existing building.

Responding to Rushen MHK Quintin Gill, Mr Gelling said DAFF would shortly submit a paper setting out proposals for the site's future use after the completion of demolition works in Spring 2007.

The Isle of Man government took over ownership of the site from Liverpool University at the end of September and Mr Gelling said funding for renovation would be sought if the government chose to use the buildings in the future.
