Coal Fund looking for donations

A charity, which helps people on low incomes to pay their winter heating bills, needs your help.

The Douglas Coal Fund was established in 1850, and provides fuel vouchers for residents recommended by the Department of Social Services.

Last year, over ?31,000 was collected and distributed through donations and the Public Lottery Trust.

Chairman of the fund Jacqui Shimmin says recent rises in energy prices makes their help even more important:
