In his closing address to the court prosecution advocate Stuart Neale has described Julie Corkill as "devious and dishonest".

Summing up the case he suggested her evidence suffered from "selective memory loss" in that issues she claimed not to remember were the ones which required answers.

Mr Neale described this as "utter nonsense" and claimed Mrs Corkill had tried to hide behind her inexperience .

He claimed nobody embarked on a ?300,000 building project without knowing what they were doing.

The Court adjourned for a short time, before advocate Dawn Jones started her closing address for the defence, which was due to start a short time ago.

Mrs Corkill (pictured), the wife of former Chief Minister Richard Corkill, denies four counts of false accounting and two of obtaining a total of ?90,000 in tourism grants by deception.

The charges are in relation to the building of tourist accommodation at the Corkill's Ballacain property in Onchan.
