MHK criticises chief constable investigation

by isleofman.com 10th October 2006
A former head of the Isle of Man Special Constabulary is strongly criticising a review which found complaints against the Chief Constable to be unsubstantiated.

Hampshire Constabulary investigated allegations by five police officers and concluded they were without substance, but North Douglas MHK John Houghton isn't impressed.

Mr Houghton (pictured), a long time and outspoken critic of policing in the Island, is also criticising Home Affairs Minister John Shimmin (audio file attached):

The review was carried out by Hampshire Constabulary and former Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire, Sir Dan Crompton, concurred with the findings.
