Council to debate government report

Douglas town councillors are to have a special meeting to discuss the ideas set out in the recently published report into the structure and scope of the Manx government.

It will give them a chance to discuss a number of recommendations relating to local government, including devolving certain functions from central government, and setting up a transitional agency to operate during the interim period.

Leader of the Council, David Christian (pictured) says it's an exciting and progressive report and, as the Island's biggest local authority area, he wants Douglas to lead the debate:
