'Drug' driving

Some young drivers on the Island believe it's safe to drive after taking drugs.

The startling revelation came out in research carried out among students at the Isle of Man College.

The issue of 'drug driving' is highlighted in the current phase of the 'Choice' campaign being run by the Department of Health.

Senior Health Promotion Officer Dawn Henley (pictured with Sgt John Kinrade of the Roads Policing Unit) says the problem isn't so much about the numbers currently drug driving, but the perception that taking drugs before getting behind the wheel is dangerous:
