Red light prosecutions

Motorists are being warned again that they could face prosecution if they jump red lights.

The trial period for the Island's first red light violation camera at the junction of York Road and Woodbourne Road finished at the weekend.

During the period a total of 46 vehicles, comprising 23 cars, 9 vans, 13 bicycles and 1 motorcycle were caught on camera

Traffic Engineer Hazel Fletcher says from now on the police will seriously consider prosecuting anyone seen to have crashed a red light:
