Drug couple critical of support

A heroin addict and his girlfriend are criticising health support services in the Isle of Man - after they were forced to wait five days for specialist help when he wanted to come off the drug.

The man went through the "cold turkey" withdrawal stage with only his partner to look after him.

The pair were told there was no immediate help available - and while waiting, the man used the drug again.

His girlfriend, whose voice has been changed to hide her identity, says the system simply doesn't work well enough:
