Farmer's hit out at review

The Manx National Farmers' Union has hit out at the Scope and Structure of Government Review's plans for the farming industry.

The review proposes to rename DAFF the Department of Countryside, Heritage and Leisure, placing greater emphasis on looking after the Island's landscape and seas.

Manx NFU president, Howard Quayle, says it suggests the government wants to create a pretty farm museum on the Isle of Man, not take the industry forward.

And the Union's secretary, Ffinlo Costain, says the part farming plays in the Island's economy shouldn't be underestimated:
