Julie Corkill case review

by isleofman.com 2nd October 2006
Legal teams in the Jule Corkill trial will meet at Douglas Courthouse this morning to review the future of the case - after the chief prosecution witness was taken to hospital on Friday.

Builder William Kelly resumed giving evidence on Friday after suffering a heart attack two months ago.

But the case was again suspended when he was taken to hospital for checks after feeling unwell less than an hour into proceedings.

Mr Kelly is thought to have suffered no ill effects - but will not be allowed to give any further evidence without the go-ahead of his heart consultant.

Adjourning the case on Friday, Michael Moyle asked all parties to gather in court today to see if the prosecution can proceed in Mr Kelly's absence.
