Winning photo

A stunning image of the Derbyhaven coastline has been declared overall winner at this year's annual Photo Competition held by the Department of Tourism.

The photo - taken from a vantage point on the breakwater with vivid pink wild flowers in full bloom - was taken by keen amateur Andrew North from Glen Vine.

His shot was also the winning entry in the Scenic Coastal category - and it's likely to feature in the next edition of the Island's Visitors Guide and other promotional campaigns.

Andrew wins a total of ?1,500 in prize money which he says will be spent on - what else - a new camera!

He's absolutely thrilled at the accolade:
