Island in Bloom bid

After its success in Britain in Bloom last week, the team behind Douglas’ bid is hoping for another triumph – this time in Island in Bloom which would again allow the capital to take part in the national competition.

Douglas won a silver achievement award in the large towns and small cities section of the contest.

And Douglas Council's leisure services chairman, Raina Chatel, is hoping for another opportunity next year.

She told James Davis she was thrilled at last week’s success:
